  • In what format is this program taught?

    This program is taught online in written format with a few videos added for demonstration purposes. It is NOT taught via video presentations or podcasts. This program is also taught in a self-paced format. However, we recommend you take your time and study the lessons. Quizzes are provided at the end of each week. Each must be passed with a grade of 70% before you can proceed to the next lesson.

  • Is enrollment immediate?

    Yes. The minute you purchase a program, you are automatically enrolled in it. For this reason, we have purposefully made the first two weeks shorter and easier. We want to give every student, especially those who enrolled spontaneously, time to purchase what will be needed for the program and time to arrange their daily schedule for the next 11 weeks. * Enrollment starts the day you purchase the program. We do not offer life-time enrollment. ** A list of what will be needed for the program will be provided after you enroll, on the page titled: What You Will Need.

  • Is the program self-paced?

    Yes and no. Yes, you can move through the program at your own pace. This means you can complete 2 weeks of the program in one week or you can take a week or two off if your schedule is too hectic or if you fall sick. However, we strongly recommend you maintain a weekly schedule. The point of a 11-week program is time. The more time you consciously focus on refinement with the help of the program, the better you will process the information. So, in order to receive a certificate, you cannot rush through the program. For example, you can not complete this 11-week program in 5 weeks and qualify for a certificate. We also recommend you do not take more than one week off. To qualify for the certificate, you must read through all the information, pass the quizzes with a 70% grade, participate in the majority of discussions, and complete the majority of the assignments.

  • Is the program hard?

    This program is intermediate level intensity. It will require a lot of reading and time to do the exercises. If you are unable to read for long periods of time, this program is probably not for you. If you are looking for something easy and quick, this program is probably not for you. This program is for serious students who really want to make a change. It is meant for ladies who are able to give 11 weeks of their time to Balissande. Again, the program requires a lot. And although we give students the opportunity to catch up if they take a week or two off, we have found it decreases how much they learn and do. Rushing though the program is not recommended.

  • What is the difference between the 11-week and 17-week program?

    Time and information. The 11 week program is a basic level program. So, it offers you less time to perfect your skills and much less information than the 17-week program. We do not recommend this program for women who need a high level understanding of savoir-faire.

  • Will a certificate be provided?

    No. This course does not offer a certificate. If you need a certificate, please enroll in our 17-week program.

  • Does this program teach Western etiquette and/or International etiquette?

    This program only teaches Western etiquette, protocol, and deportment. It does NOT cover rules from the East (or International etiquette).

  • What are the requirements to enroll?

    The requirements to enroll are: you must be 18 years old or older; you must have advanced level reading comprehension in English; you must have intermediate level writing in English; you must have access to a computer and the internet for at least 6 hours a week; you must have a kind and respectful attitude.

  • Does this program follow modern or traditional rules?

    This program has a mix of modern and traditional rules and values. When it comes to rules and values, we use the past as our guide. However, a lot has changed over the years. So, we do take those changes into consideration too, when it comes to rules.
